The Knackered Ramblers first collaboration, “We B Ramblin” is a mix of traditional fiddle tunes, heart songs and deeply southern spirituals as well as originals penned by both Boosinger and Compton. Boosinger’s “On That Day” paints a picture of the force of recent Hurricane Helene devastation in Western North Carolina. Compton’s “Long Way to Vicksburg” is a wistful remembrance of his Mississippi roots portrayed by intricate mandolin and banjo interplay. “Dear Honey” comes from an old book of Texas folk songs and is arranged as a duet featuring mandola and finger-picked banjo. Boosinger’s “Gazebo on a Sunday Afternoon” caps off the collaboration with a breath of fresh air and a smile.

The Knackered Ramblers musical interpretations echo the traditional country styles of the South from Bluegrass to Old-Time to Shaped Note hymns. Their approach is honest and engaging. Both Boosinger and Compton have been featured at major events across the nation and have traveled extensively abroad bringing their brand of roots music to audiences around the world.
